I became an instructor in 2003 training and initially working for BSM for a number of years before moving on to Clickdrive and eventually starting up DLA Driving School in 2016. As a fully qualified ADI (Approved driving instructor) I am still always looking to learn and improve my coaching/teaching techniques and do so by attending various courses and seminars around the country. I am also a member of a number of driving instructor groups.
Understanding that everybody learns differently I tailor each of my lessons to the individuals needs to help them achieve their set goals lesson by lesson and throughout their whole learning experience. I like to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere in the car and have been told I am a courteous friendly instructor which ultimately leads to having a highly successful pass rate.

I had been working on my own for a number of years and had never previously considered joining a franchise company. After meeting with Darren and Dave I could see how they are building a very client focussed business and how they are determined to provide the best possible service, not just to their students, but also their franchisees as well. After I joined DLA Darren and Dave have done exactly what they said they would resulting in more clients for me at a better rate than I had when I worked alone. Although I am seeing that my earnings have increased its great to be part of a real team that I can call on at any time for help and advice.

I have been instructing for a number of years and I am delighted to join the DLA team as an Automatic Driving Instructor. As a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) I understand that sometimes a new driver can be less confident in their ability to use a manual car. Sometimes people find that using the clutch and the gears as well as learning all the other skills required to learn to drive just a little too daunting. By creating a relaxed atmosphere I aim to make your learning experience in an Automatic car less stressful whilst covering all the essential skills you will need to become a confident and competent driver.

I have been an instructor in the driving industry for 20 years and can offer trainees a wealth of experience and knowledge gained over my career. I genuinely feel that its only right to put the needs of a trainee as the main priority when training. I like to work with my trainees to provide a bespoke lesson structure to ensure a successful test outcome at the earliest opportunity. As your driving instructor I focus on not just teaching you how to drive, but even more importantly, safe driving habits that will last a lifetime. My teaching methods will ensure you feel calm and confident as we build your skills through each lesson. It is my goal to guarantee you are confident when going for the driving test and also safe and confident on the road when you have passed your test. Achieving this is the reward that gives me such a passion for being a driving instructor.

Being a driving Instructor to me is a joy, I love to see the delight on my clients faces when they make progress and particularly when they receive their pass certificates. Every one learns at a different rate and has different needs but any one can learn to drive. All you need is enthusiasm and commitment I will do the rest. My job is to bring out the confident driver that exists inside everyone, to do this I use a system of compassion, support, and respect, I believe the more you enjoy your lesson the better you will learn and the more successful you will be.

After moving down to Bedfordshire I knew I wanted Vo work for a more respected local company and I instantly knew DLA were the company for me. After working on and off at the start of my career due to covid restrictions I am really looking forward to pushing on in my own journey as an ADI and helping my students gain the freedom of having a driving licence.

I have been an ADI for the last 6 years and enjoyed every day and am delighted to have joined DLA teaching in and around the Flitwick area. I believe that all people learn in different ways and at different speeds so all my lessons are based on each student’s individual needs. I am patient and understanding and impress that learning to drive is a life skill and aim to ensure that they have a full awareness of safety to both themselves and others. I instil confidence in my students and ensure they enjoy and are relaxed during their lessons.
